Bil Keane’s last Family Circus.

In elementary school, I would spend my Sunday afternoons reading the comics, picking my favorites, and cutting and pasting them in to thick binders so I could read them again later. I didn’t understand how I was supposed to throw away something that I enjoyed so much.

Family Circus didn’t often make the cut in to the binders. I loved “Mutts” and “Luanne” and “Doonesbury.” But the frames that would follow Jeffy on his paths around the neighborhood would always make it in.

I was a weird kid. And I’m a weird adult. And I’m going to allow myself to feel a little bad tonight that I didn’t cut out his comics a little more often.
